How you will make an impact:

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer independently drives implementation and optimization of manufacturing equipment and processes. This role is tasked with operational efficiency improvements, new product, equipment, and process introductions, as well as leading efforts on continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing. Additionally, this role is expected to cross-functionally collaborate throughout deployment of new processes, troubleshooting of manufacturing issues, and documentation efforts for all aspects of Meissner’s manufacturing.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives by independently identifying opportunities across all manufacturing spaces, creating implementation plans, and executing agreed upon solutions.
  • Conduct process optimization studies by generating Design of Experiments, coordinating and executing the studies, documenting results, and presenting them to stakeholders.
  • Prepare drawings for equipment modifications using 2-D and 3-D CAD software.
  • Lead implementation of new manufacturing processes. Design, develop, and deploy new manufacturing equipment or automation systems to improve process capability, support the introduction of new products, and/or enhance existing processes via automation or retooling.
  • Participate in tthe development process for new equipment and provide recommendations for ease of operation, maintenance, and long-term reliability.
  • Facilitate testing and validation of new equipment and processes, as well as qualification of parts or intermediate processes.
  • Create, review, and maintain process documentation, such as standard operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and work instructions.
  • Participate in the deployment of new equipment and processes.
  • Train operators on equipment and processes.
  • Provide engineering technical support for maintenance and production teams in troubleshooting equipment and processes, implementing design and process modifications, as needed.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to drive process optimization efforts, in order to reduce waste, save on costs, and improve process reliability.
  • Assign maintenance work orders to the appropriate maintenance technicians for timely resolution.
  • Support cross-functional projects related to capacity expansion, quality improvements, safety, and regulatory compliance.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline such as Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering, is required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of working experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Must be Proficient with MS Office software including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and a working knowledge of a wide variety of software packages, operating systems, and equipment.
  • Must exhibit proficient CAD software skills.
  • Must have strong English Language written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience conducting root cause analysis and methodical problem-solving approach.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of successfully working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Must have strong technical writing skills for documentation and cross-departmental communication.
  • Must have proven understanding of validation protocols and manufacturing documentation practices.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must demonstrate great attention to detail in troubleshooting, analysis, documentation, design, and communication.

Work Environment

Occasional work may be done in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom environment. Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, gowns, and shoe covers must be worn. Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette and these particles will damage our products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom. As a result, the successful candidate must be a nonsmoker.

US BASE PAY SCALE $96,400 - $120,000
