How you will make an impact:

Research and Development is at the forefront of innovation and scalability for Meissner Filtration Products. The R&D Intern will be responsible for assisting current R&D team members on their projects. The work will be diverse and will involve sample measurements, filter testing, prototype assembly and some CAD design. Work involved will be both in the design stage to scale-up.

The R&D Intern’s work will include experimentation, analysis, design of experiment and implementation of advanced technologies and systems focused on augmenting our capacity to serve our ever-growing customer base in the life sciences fields.

  • Responsible for accomplishing tasks assigned by project leader.
  • Take a collaborative approach to meeting the goals and deadlines and seek out the necessary assistance. Work in an interdisciplinary team, ranging from other scientists to technicians and engineers.
  • Carry out hands-on experimental work, operate equipment to test and validate concepts.
  • Understand the material properties and physical characteristics of the materials being used for testing and experimentation and underlying science and concepts.
  • Carry out own experiments, testing, analysis and validation, DOE and effectively communicate their results through written reports. Example of testing involved: failure analysis, lifetime studies, comparative performance evaluations using appropriate equipment and instrumentation.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Materials Science.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a desire to work on chemical processes involved in different aspects of the manufacturing of filters at an R&D/prototype scale to pilot and production scales.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-driven, motivated to learn and expected to be accountable for assigned tasks.
  • The ability to utilize basic computer skills is essential including the use of word-processing, spreadsheets, project management software and databases.

US BASE PAY SCALE $20.00 - 25.00/hr
