How you will make an impact:

As the Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Café Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations, maintain high standards of food quality and presentation, and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen. This role will serve as a mentor to team members while providing hands-on support in the kitchen and with customers as needed. This position requires interaction among various departments to assist in coordinating onsite company catering events and may entail local travel throughout campus locations.

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of all menu items.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipe specifications and standards.
  • Support Café Supervisor in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth integration between event requirements and regular operations.
  • Ensure all food safety and sanitation practices are followed in the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, work areas, and overall environment.
  • Train new Café staff on proper techniques, kitchen procedures, and food safety.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced kitchen environment required.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work as a team and independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Creativity and a passion for culinary excellence.

US BASE PAY SCALE $22.31 - $27.36/hr
