How you will make an impact:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sourcing Engineer to join our Procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new suppliers to support business needs and ensure a competitive, reliable, and sustainable supply base. This role bridges engineering and procurement by applying technical knowledge to supplier selection and management, ensuring supplier capabilities align with quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

  • Apply a strong understanding of machining processes, material specifications, supplier audits, and SATs (Supplier Acceptance Tests) to ensure sourced components meet critical performance and quality standards.
  • Interpret and review Bills of Materials (BOMs); identify discrepancies, call out corrections, and collaborate with Engineering to make modifications when items do not meet fit, form, or function requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, and Production, to define sourcing strategies and translate technical requirements into supplier deliverables.
  • Manage RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes and support negotiation of pricing, lead times, and contract terms.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers in alignment with company requirements for engineering specifications, quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
  • Conduct supplier capability assessments, process audits, and risk evaluations to ensure readiness and ongoing adherence to company standards.
  • Lead supplier onboarding and development initiatives to align suppliers with company technical and quality expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, industry developments, and supply chain risks to inform sourcing decisions.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality requirements.
  • Experience in procurement, planning, or management of machining operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Works independently and collaborates effectively across functions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with supplier audits and performance evaluations is a plus.

US BASE PAY SCALE $75,100 - $95,600
