How you will make an impact:

The Director of Product Management is responsible for establishing, scaling, and leading the company's Product Management function, refining the operating model within the commercial organization and intra-departmentally, processes that drive customer-centric innovation, commercial growth, and portfolio optimization. This strategic leader will oversee product strategy, roadmap development, and lifecycle management across the company's four primary product portfolios - Filtration, Single-Use Systems (SUS), Equipment & Hardware, and Services - ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities. 

As the leader of this area of marketing, the Director will build strong partnerships across Engineering, R&D, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to create organizational alignment and embed Product Management as a trusted, value-added partner. This role will establish or enhance best practices, prioritization frameworks, portfolio governance, and data-driven decision-making processes that connect market insights, customer needs, and commercial priorities with product execution. 

Success in this role will be defined by the ability to build a high-performing Product Management organization, foster cross-functional collaboration and accountability, influence strategic decision-making, and translate product strategy into sustainable business growth and competitive advantage.

Product Strategy & Vision 

  • Establish and execute the product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap across Filtration, Single-Use Systems (SUS), Equipment & Hardware, and Services portfolios, aligning investments with business and market priorities. 

  • Develop and lead the product management operating model, including portfolio governance, product roadmap planning, and prioritization. Provide support for investment decisions to drive consistent product and solution differentiation. From business priorities, align execution and accountability. 

Product Portfolio Management 

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management across defined product lines, from concept development and business case creation through commercialization, growth, and end-of-life management, ensuring alignment with business strategy and customer needs. 

  • From business plan ensure alignment of portfolio prioritization and resource allocation frameworks, leveraging customer insights, VOC feedback, market research, competitive intelligence, and performance metrics to drive data-informed investment decisions and maximize business value. 

Team Leadership & Organizational Excellence 

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Product Management organization by defining clear roles, responsibilities, career paths, and performance expectations that support talent growth and organizational effectiveness. 

  • Establish and scale product management methodologies, governance processes, and best practices that drive consistency, accountability, execution excellence, and effective portfolio management across the organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Serve as the primary liaison across Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success, ensuring product strategies and execution align with business objectives, revenue goals, and customer needs. 

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across product development, commercialization, line extensions, upgrades, and portfolio expansion, partnering with R&D and Engineering to translate customer and market requirements into product priorities. 

Business & Financial Management 

  • Provide market defined basis for developing and evaluating business cases, market opportunity assessments, and investment recommendations for new product development and portfolio expansion, partnering with Finance and executive leadership to optimize portfolio performance and resource allocation. 

  • Lead portfolio-level financial planning, including pricing strategy, revenue forecasting, profitability analysis, and investment prioritization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and sustainable business growth. 

Executive Stakeholder Management 

  • Serve as the senior product leader and trusted advisor to executive leadership, shaping strategic business decisions through market intelligence, customer insights, competitive analysis, and product expertise. 

  • Communicate product strategy, portfolio performance, roadmap priorities, and investment recommendations to executive stakeholders, driving informed decision-making and organizational alignment. 

The skills and experience you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, portfolio management, commercial operations, or business operations within life sciences, biotech, pharmaceuticals, health tech, or related industries. 

  • 4+ years with progressive people management/department-leadership capacity. 

  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives, influence stakeholders across matrixed organizations, and drive business growth through operational excellence and scalable processes. 

  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling a product management organization. 

  • Strong commercial, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including experience with pricing strategy, forecasting, portfolio/P&L management, and data-driven decision-making. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting make-to-order, configurable, or customized product businesses, including bioprocessing, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, plastics, media, reagents, or related industries. 

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and customer-facing project management organizations. 

  • Experience leading process improvement, pricing optimization, operational enablement, and continuous improvement initiatives in complex business environments. 

  • Proficiency with ERP, CRM, analytics, and other business systems, with experience supporting high-growth, operationally complex, or rapidly evolving business segments. 

  • Experience partnering with global commercial teams across multiple regions.

US BASE PAY SCALE $180,000 - $263,300
