How you will make an impact:
The Applications Engineering department is responsible for delivering complex custom systems that address challenging biopharmaceutical production process needs which are a key component of a rapidly growing business with a distinguished reputation, and as such, a serious dedication to getting all the details right for our clients is of utmost importance. Applications Engineers support clients throughout the world by overseeing the design of novel, efficient and cost-effective process solutions, implementing these solutions as a critical part of medicine manufacture. In primary role as a Manager, works with global AE leadership team to make strategic decisions in terms of growth structure and process development. Develops HQ AE team over time to meet future demands in a scalable manner.
- Leads by example and provides direction, inspiring supervisors and other team members to achieve general AE objectives.
- Ensures that AE team at HQ are accomplishing the impact and outcomes necessary to support overall Meissner organizational performance.
- Leads team of AE Supervisors at HQ that oversee engineering, drafting, technician and coordination teams.
- Evaluates performance of AE Supervisors at HQ on a regular basis, holding supervisors accountable for their commitments.
- Communicates organizational needs and resolves general conflicts.
- Collaborates with other departments to ensure best practices are communicated throughout the organization.
- Oversees multi-departmental projects along with AE Project Manager to ensure that initiatives and specifications are satisfied, timelines are adhered to, associated cost targets are achieved, etc.
- Supports continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout organization.
- Supports efficiency and lean manufacturing initiatives.
This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.
The skills and experience you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent technical discipline based on industry experience.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Experience in responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Demonstrate computer skills is essential including familiarity with CAD and proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets and databases.
- Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Proven track record in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
- Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Excellent attention to detail is necessary as these single-use assemblies are used in the production and use of life saving drugs.
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other departments at Meissner as well as parties external to the organization.
- Able to lead customer discussions and present Meissner capabilities.

US BASE PAY SCALE $134,300 - $181,800
The base pay scale for this role is what Meissner reasonably expects to pay for the position although actual pay may vary from this scale depending on an applicant's experience.
